2023/24 Premier League Preview: Gameweek 31

Newcastle VS Everton

Newcastle came from behind to somehow beat West Ham on the weekend and they are currently 8th in the league. When it comes to Everton, they lost late at Bournemouth last time out and they currently sit 16th in the table. In their previous 25 meetings, Newcastle have won 9 games compared to Everton’s 13. For Newcastle United, you’d expect them to win this game. The Magpies are ranked 3rd in GPG (2.2) and they currently have the 6th-best home record in the league. As for Everton, they need to pick up results now! The Toffees are ranked 19th in GPG (1.0) and they haven’t won any of their last 12 league games (7W,5D).

My Prediction: 3-0

 


Nottingham Forest VS Fulham

Nottingham Forest managed to draw at home to Crystal Palace in their last game and they currently sit just outside the Relegation Zone in 17th place. When it comes to Fulham, they could only draw 3-3 at Sheffield United last time out and they currently find themselves 12th in the league. In their previous 15 meetings, Forest have won 5 times whilst Fulham have won 9 times. For Nottingham Forest, they need to find a way to edge out their opponents. Forest are ranked 16th in GPG (1.2) and they’ve only managed to pick up 2 points in their last 5 league games. As for Fulham, you just never know what you’re going to get with them. The Cottagers are ranked 10th in GPG (1.5) and they currently have the 15th best-away record in the league.

Bournemouth VS Crystal Palace

When it comes to Crystal Palace, they picked up a point in a 1-all draw at Nottingham Forest last time out and they currently sit 14th in the table. In their previous 14 meetings, Bournemouth have half the amount of wins as Palace (3:6). For AFC Bournemouth, they’ve just got to try and keep winning. The Cherries are ranked 11th in GPG (1.5) and they’ve managed to pick up 10 points in their last 5 league games. As for Crystal Palace, they’re kind of in no man’s land at the moment. Burnley VS Wolves

Burnley managed to pick up a great point in a 2-2 draw at Chelsea on the weekend, but they are still currently inside the Relegation Zone in 19th place. When it comes to Wolves, they lost 2-0 at Aston Villa last time out and they currently sit 10th in the table. In their previous 13 meetings, Burnley have won 6 games compared to just 2 wins for Wolves. For Burnley, they need to pick up a win here. The Clarets are ranked 18th in GPG (1.0) and they currently have the worst home record in the league. As for Wolverhampton Wanderers, they can’t afford to fold in this game! Wolves are ranked 13th in GPG (1.4) and they currently have the 11th-best away record in the league.

West Ham VS Tottenham

West Ham host Tottenham in an important London Derby. West Ham suffered a tough 4-3 loss at Newcastle last time out and they currently sit 7th in the table. When it comes to Tottenham, they managed to beat Luton 2-1 on Saturday and they are currently 5th in the league. In their previous 29 meetings, West Ham have won 11 matches compared to Spurs’ 13. For West Ham United, this is a big game for them. The Hammers are ranked 9th in GPG (1.6) and they currently have the 10th-best home record in the league. As for Tottenham Hotspur, they need to try and win this game. Spurs are ranked 6th in GPG (2.1) and they currently have the 5th-best away record in the league.

Arsenal VS Luton

When it comes to Luton, they lost 2-1 at Tottenham last time out and they currently sit inside the Relegation Zone (in 18th). Arsenal won the reverse fixture earlier in the season 4-3 (thanks to a 97th-minute winner). For Arsenal, you’d expect them to win big here. The Gunners are ranked 1st in GPG (2.4) and they currently have the second-best home record in the league. As for Luton Town, they’ll do well to get anything from this game. The Hatters are ranked 12th in GPG (1.4) and they’re currently on a 10-game winless run in all competitions (3D,7L).

Brentford VS Brighton

Brentford scored late in a 1-all draw with Manchester United last Saturday and they currently sit 15th in the table. When it comes to Brighton, they lost 2-1 at Liverpool last time out and they are currently 9th in the league. In their previous 14 meetings, Brentford have won 4 times whilst Brighton have won 7 times. For Brentford, they need to pick up a few wins relatively soon. The Bees are ranked 13th in GPG (1.4) and they’re currently on a 7-game winless run (2D,5L). As for Brighton and Hove Albion, they need to win this game. Manchester City VS Aston Villa

When it comes to Aston Villa, they beat Wolves 2-0 last time out and they are currently 8 points off the league leaders. In their previous 25 meetings, Man City have won 19 games compared to Villa’s 4. For Manchester City, they need to pull out a strong performance here. City are ranked 3rd in GPG (2.2) and they’re currently on a 23-game unbeaten run in all competitions (19W,4D). As for Aston Villa, they shouldn’t be afraid heading into this game. Liverpool VS Sheffield United

When it comes to Sheffield United, they let a 2-goal lead slip in a 3-all draw against Fulham on the weekend and they currently find themselves 7 points off safety. In their previous 5 meetings, Liverpool have won them all by an aggregate score of 9-1. Sheffield U’s last win over Liverpool came back in 2003 (2-1 in the League Cup). When it comes to Manchester United, they could only 1-1 draw at Brentford last time out and they currently find themselves 6th in the league. In their previous 38 meetings, Chelsea have won 11 games compared to Man United’s 14. For Chelsea, they need a result here. The Blues are ranked 8th in GPG (1.8) and they’re currently on a 5-game unbeaten run in all competitions (3W,2D). As for Manchester United, they need to win this game. United are ranked 15th in GPG (1.4), but they do currently have the 6th-best away record in the league.
