2023/24 Premier League Preview: Gameweek 26

Aston Villa VS Nottingham Forest

Aston Villa won 2-1 at Fulham last weekend and they are currently 4th in the league. When it comes to Nottingham Forest, they beat West Ham 2-0 last time out and they currently sit 16th in the table. In their previous 9 meetings, Villa have won 44% of the time compared to Forest’s 33%. For Aston Villa, they shouldn’t slip up here. Villa are ranked 5th in GPG (2.1) and they currently have the 4th best home record in the league. As for Nottingham Forest, this won’t be easy for them. Forest are ranked 16th in GPG (1.3) and they currently have the 5th-worst away record in the league.

My Prediction: 3-1

Brighton VS Everton

Brighton smashed Sheffield United 5-0 last weekend and they currently find themselves in 7th place. When it comes to Everton, they drew 1-1 at home against Crystal Palace last time out and they currently sit 17th in the table. In their previous 13 meetings, Brighton have won 4 times whilst Everton have won 6 times. For Brighton and Hove Albon, they really should be winning this game. The Seagulls are ranked 7th in GPG (1.9) and they’re currently on an 11-game unbeaten home run in all competitions (6W,5D). As for Everton, they can definitely get a result from this game. The Toffees are ranked 18th in GPG (1.1) and they currently have the 9th-best away record in the league.

My Prediction: 1-1

Crystal Palace VS Burnley

Crystal Palace host Burnley in a huge game for both sides. Crystal Palace drew 1-1 last Monday Night at Everton and they currently sit 15th in the table. When it comes to Burnley, they got thrashed 5-0 by Arsenal last time out and they are currently inside the Relegation Zone (in 19th). In their previous 21 meetings, both sides have picked up 8 wins each. For Crystal Palace, this is a great opportunity for them to get off to a winning start under new Manager Oliver Glasner. The Eagles are ranked 17th in GPG (1.1) and they currently have the 4th-worst home record in the league. As for Burnley, they have to start winning now. The Clarets are ranked 19th in GPG (1.0) and they’re currently on an 8-game winless run in all competitions (2D,6L).

My Prediction: 3-2

Manchester United VS Fulham

Manchester United won 2-1 at Luton last weekend and they are currently 6th in the league. When it comes to Fulham, they lost 2-1 at home to Aston Villa last time out and they currently sit 12th in the table. In their previous 17 meetings, Man United have won 14 games whilst Fulham haven’t won once! In fact, Fulham’s last win over United was 3-0 back in 2009. For Manchester United, they’re playing well right now (and will look to continue doing so). United are ranked 11th in GPG (1.4) and they’re currently on a 5-game winning run in all competitions. As for Fulham, they’ll do well to get something from this game. The Cottagers are ranked 14th in GPG (1.4) and they currently have the second-worst away record in the league.

My Prediction: 3-1

Bournemouth VS Manchester City

Bournemouth picked up a decent point at Newcastle last time out and they currently sit 13th in the table. When it comes to Manchester City, they dropped points at home to Chelsea last weekend before they beat Brentford 1-0 midweek and they are currently second in the league. In their previous 14 meetings, Man City have won every game by an aggregate score of 46-8! Amazingly, Bournemouth have never beaten City! For AFC Bournemouth, they’re going to have to give it their all if they want to get anything from this game. The Cherries are ranked 15th in GPG (1.4) and they currently have the 5th-worst home record in the league. As for Manchester City, they need to make sure that they win this game. City are ranked 2nd in GPG (2.3) and they’re currently on a 16-game unbeaten run in all competitions (14W,2D).

My Prediction: 1-3

Arsenal VS Newcastle

In the game of the weekend, Arsenal host Newcastle at the Emirates! Arsenal smashed Burnley 5-0 last weekend before they suffered a disappointing 1-0 defeat at FC Porto midweek. Arsenal are currently third in the league. When it comes to Newcastle, they could only draw at home with Bournemouth last time out and they currently sit 8th in the table. In their previous 27 meetings, Arsenal have won 20 games compared to Newcastle’s 4. The last time both of these teams scored in this fixture was back in 2018. For Arsenal, they just need to keep winning. The Gunners are ranked 2nd in GPG (2.3) and they currently have the third-best home record in the league. As for Newcastle United, I’d be surprised if they get a result from this game. The Magpies are ranked 4th in GPG (2.1) and they’re currently on a 5-game unbeaten run in all competitions (3W,2D).

My Prediction: 3-0

Wolves VS Sheffield United

Wolves picked up a great 2-1 victory at Tottenham last weekend and they currently sit 11th in the table. When it comes to Sheffield United, they got thrashed 5-0 by Brighton last time out and they are currently bottom of the league. In their previous 10 meetings, Wolves have won 60% of the time compared to Sheffield U’s 30%. For Wolverhampton Wanderers, they can’t really afford to slip up here. Wolves are ranked 9th in GPG (1.6) and they currently have the 12th-best home record in the league. As for Sheffield United, they need to pick up some more wins. The Blades are ranked 20th in GPG (0.9) and they currently have the worst away record in the league.

My Prediction: 1-1

West Ham VS Brentford

West Ham host Brentford in an important Monday Night Football clash for both sides. West Ham lost 2-0 at Nottingham Forest last weekend and they are currently 9th in the league. When it comes to Brentford, they’ve lost against both Liverpool and Manchester City in the past week and they currently sit 14th in the table. In their previous 6 meetings, West Ham have only won once compared to 5 wins for Brentford. For West Ham United, they have to win this game. The Hammers are ranked 10th in GPG (1.4) and they’re currently on an 8-game winless run (4D,4L). As for Brentford, they’ll fancy themselves in this one. The Bees are ranked 11th in GPG (1.4) and they currently have the 15th-best away record in the league.

My Prediction: 1-2
