2023/24 Premier League Preview: Gameweek 24

Manchester City VS Everton

The weekend’s Premier League action kicks off with Manchester City hosting Everton at the Etihad. Manchester City won 3-1 at Brentford Monday Night and they are currently second in the league. When it comes to Everton, they snatched a late point in a 2-all draw with Tottenham last time out and they currently find themselves inside the Relegation Zone (in 18th place). In their previous 30 meetings, Man City have won 60% of the time whilst Everton have won 20% of the time. For Manchester City, you’d expect them to keep their winning run going in this one. City are ranked 1st in GPG (2.5) and they’re currently on a 9-game winning run. As for Everton, they’re going to need to show a lot of fight if they want to get anything from this game. The Toffees are ranked 17th in GPG (1.1) and they currently have the 6th-best away record in the league.

My Prediction: 3-2

Fulham VS Bournemouth

Fulham blew a 2-goal lead to draw 2-2 with Burnley last weekend and they currently sit 13th in the table. When it comes to Bournemouth, they drew 1-1 at home with Nottingham Forest last time out and they are currently 12th in the league. In their previous 9 meetings, Fulham have only won once whilst Bournemouth have won 5 times. For Fulham, they need to get back to winning ways. The Cottagers are ranked 15th in GPG (1.3) and they’re currently on a 6-game winless run in all competitions (3D,3L). As for AFC Bournemouth, they’ll fancy themselves to win this game. The Cherries are ranked 13th in GPG (1.4) and they currently have the 10th-best away record in the league.

My Prediction: 1-1

Liverpool VS Burnley

Liverpool lost 3-1 in an important game against Arsenal last weekend, but they are still currently top of the league. When it comes to Burnley, they came from behind to draw 2-2 with Fulham last time out and they currently sit 19th in the table. In their previous 15 meetings, Liverpool have won 11 games compared to 2 wins for Burnley. Each of the last 5 meetings have seen only one team find the back of the net. For Liverpool, they’ll be looking to bounce back in a big way here. The Reds are ranked 2nd in GPG (2.3) and they currently have the best home record in the league. As for Burnley, they’re going to have to play unbelievably well if they want to get anything out of this one. The Clarets are ranked 19th in GPG (1.0) and they haven’t won any of their last 6 matches in all competitions (2D,4L).

My Prediction: 3-0

When it comes to Sheffield United, they were thrashed 5-0 at home by Aston Villa last time out and they are currently bottom of the league. In their previous 5 meetings, Luton have won twice whilst Sheffield U have won once. For Luton Town, they can’t really afford to slip up here. The Hatters are ranked 11th in GPG (1.5) and they’re currently on a 6-game unbeaten run in all competitions (3W,3D). As for Sheffield United, they need a result here. The Blades are ranked 20th in GPG (0.8) and they currently have the worst away record in the league.

My Prediction: 3-1

For Tottenham Hotspur, they need to keep up with the Top 4. Spurs are ranked 3rd in GPG (2.1) and they currently have the 6th-best home record in the league. As for Brighton and Hove Albion, there’s no reason why they can’t win this game. The Seagulls are ranked 7th in GPG (1.8), but they haven’t won any of their last 5 away league games (2D,3L).

For Nottingham Forest, they can definitely get a result here. Forest are ranked 16th in GPG (1.2) and they currently have the 5th-worst home record in the league. As for Newcastle United, they shouldn’t slip up here. The Magpies are ranked 5th in GPG (2.1) and they currently have the 5th-worst away record in the league.

My Prediction: 1-2

West Ham VS Arsenal

West Ham were thrashed 3-0 by Manchester United last weekend and they currently sit 7th in the table. When it comes to Arsenal, they picked up a great 3-1 win over Liverpool last time out and they are currently third in the league. In their previous 27 meetings, West Ham have won 4 times compared to Arsenal’s 19. 2 of those wins for West Ham have come this season. For West Ham United, they need to find some form again.
