2023/24 Premier League Preview: Gameweek 21 (A)

Burnley VS Luton

Credit: DAZN

Burnley host Luton in a really important Premier League Clash. Burnley were unlucky to lose 3-2 at Aston Villa in their last league game before they were knocked out of the FA Cup by Tottenham and they currently sit 19th in the table. When it comes to Luton, they lost 3-2 at home to Chelsea before they drew 0-0 with Bolton and they currently occupy a Relegation Spot (18th). In their previous 3 meetings, Burnley have won twice whilst the other game ended in a 1-all draw. For Burnley, they really have to win this game. The Clarets are ranked 19th in GPG (1.0) and they currently have the worst home record in the league. As for Luton Town, a win here would move them out of the Relegation Zone. The Hatters are ranked 16th in GPG (1/2) and they currently have the 4th-worst away record in the league.

My Prediction: 2-0

Chelsea VS Fulham

Chelsea have beaten Luton and Preston and lost to Middlesbrough in their last three games and they currently find themselves 10th in the league. When it comes to Fulham, they’ve beaten Arsenal and Rotherham and then lost against Liverpool and they currently sit 13th in the table. In their previous 16 meetings, Chelsea have won 9 games compared to just 1 win for Fulham. That win came last season. For Chelsea, they should really be winning this game. The Blues are ranked 8th in GPG (1.7) and they currently have the 12th-best home record in the league. As for Fulham, they will probably fancy themselves in this one. The Cottagers are ranked 12th in GPG (1.4) and they currently have the third-worst away record in the league.

My Prediction: 1-1

Newcastle VS Manchester City

Newcastle welcome Manchester City to St. James’ Park for what should be a really entertaining game. Newcastle lost 4-2 at Liverpool in their last league game before they trashed Rivals Sunderland (3-0) and they currently sit 9th in the table. When it comes to Manchester City, they’ve beaten Sheffield United (2-0) and Huddersfield (5-0) in their last two matches and they are currently third in the league. In their previous 29 meetings, Newcastle have won just 3 meetings whilst Man City have won 23. 8 of the last 10 meetings has seen at least one team keep a Clean Sheet and it’s also worth mentioning that Newcastle beat City in the Carabao Cup back in September. For Newcastle United, they need to start winning in the league again. The Magpies are ranked 5th in GPG (2.0) and they currently have the third-best home record in the league. As for Manchester City, this feels like a big game for them. City are ranked 1st in GPG (2.4) and they also currently have the best away record in the league.

My Prediction: 2-3

Everton VS Aston Villa

Credit: DAZN

Everton were thrashed 3-0 by Wolves in their last league game before they drew nil-nil with Crystal Palace in the FA Cup and they currently sit just outside the Relegation Zone in 17th. When it comes to Aston Villa, they beat Burnley 3-2 in the league before they beat Middlesbrough in the Cup and they are currently second in the league. In their previous 22 meetings, Everton have won 7 times whilst Villa have won 9 times. For Everton, they need to start picking up results again. The Toffees are ranked 14th in GPG (1.2) and they’re currently on a 5-game winless run in all competitions (1D,4L). As for Aston Villa, they should end the weekend top of the league. Villa are ranked 2nd in GPG (2.2) and they currently have the 7th-best away record in the league.

My Prediction: 1-2

Manchester United VS Tottenham

Credit: DAZN

The Main Event of Super Sunday sees Manchester United host Tottenham at Old Trafford. Manchester United lost 2-1 at Nottingham Forest in their last league game before they knocked Wigan out of the FA Cup and they currently sit 8th in the table. When it comes to Tottenham, they’ve beaten both Bournemouth and Burnley in their last couple of matches and they currently find themselves 5th in the league. In their previous 28 meetings, Man United have won 14 games whilst Spurs have won 8. For Manchester United, it’s important for them that they win this game. United are ranked 17th in GPG (1.1) and they currently have the 11th-best home record in the league. As for Tottenham Hotspur, they probably should be winning this game if they want to challenge for the Title. Spurs are ranked 4th in GPG (2.1) and they currently have the third-best away record in the league.

My Prediction: 1-2
