2023/24 Premier League Preview: Gameweek 15

Wolves VS Burnley

The Premier League returns to Amazon Prime this week and it starts with Wolves hosting Burnley at Molineux. Wolves lost 2-1 away to Arsenal on Saturday and they currently sit 13th in the table. When it comes to Burnley, they smashed Sheffield United 5-0 last time out, but they are still currently inside the Relegation Zone (in 19th). In their previous 12 meetings, Wolves have only won once whilst Burnley have won 6 times. Wolves’ last win over Burnley came back in 2018 (1-0). For Wolverhampton Wanderers, this feels like a big game for them. Wolves are ranked 11th in GPG (1.4) and no team has conceded more penalties than them (in the league) this season (with 5). As for Burnley, they’ll be hoping that Saturday’s win was the turning point in their season. The Clarets are ranked 16th in GPG (1.1) and they currently have the 4th-worst away record in the league.

My Prediction: 1-1

Luton VS Arsenal

League Leaders Arsenal head down to Kenilworth Road for what should be a special game for anyone connected to Luton. Luton lost 3-1 at Brentford in their last game and they are currently just outside the Relegation Zone in 17th place. When it comes to Arsenal, they beat Wolves 2-1 at home the other day and they are currently leading the rest of the field by 2 points. The last meeting between these two sides came all the way back in 1991 (1-0 Luton). For Luton Town, they have to go out there and enjoy this game whilst also putting in a hell of a shift. The Hatters are ranked 19th in GPG (0.9) and they still haven’t kept a single Clean Sheet in the 2023/24 Season (in any competition). As for Arsenal, they need to make sure that they don’t do anything stupid here. The Gunners are ranked 6th in GPG (2.1) and they’re currently on a 5-game winning run (in all competitions).

My Prediction: 1-3

Brighton VS Brentford

Brighton lost 3-2 at Chelsea yesterday and they are currently 8th in the league. When it comes to Brentford, they beat Luton 3-1 last time out and they currently sit 11th in the table. In their previous 13 meetings, Brighton have won 6 games whilst Brentford have won 4. For Brighton and Hove Albion, they’ll be hoping and expecting to get straight back to winning ways here. The Seagulls are ranked 5th in GPG (2.1) and they currently have the 6th-best home record in the league. As for Brentford, there’s no reason why they can’t win this game. The Bees are ranked 10th in GPG (1.6) and 6th in GPCP (1.4).

My Prediction: 2-2

Crystal Palace VS Bournemouth

Crystal Palace picked up a decent point at West Ham yesterday and they currently sit 12th in the table. When it comes to Bournemouth, they conceded late in a 2-all draw at home to Aston Villa last time out and they currently occupy 16th spot. In their previous 13 meetings, Palace have won 6 times whilst Bournemouth have won twice. For Crystal Palace, they should win this game. The Eagles are ranked 18th in GPG (1.0) and they currently have the 5th-worst home record in the league. As for AFC Bournemouth, there’s no reason why they can’t get something from this game. The Cherries are ranked 12th in GPG (1.1) and they currently have the third-worst away record in the league.

My Prediction: 1-1

Fulham VS Nottingham Forest

Fulham suffered a heart-breaking defeat at Liverpool last time out and they currently sit 14th in the table. When it comes to Nottingham Forest, they suffered a disappointing 1-0 defeat at home to Everton Saturday Night and they are currently 15th in the league. In their previous 14 meetings, Fulham have won 57% of the time compared to 36% for Notts Forest. For Fulham, it’s important for them that they win this game. The Cottagers are ranked 12th in GPG (1.1) and they’re currently on a 10-game streak of failing to keep a Clean Sheet. As for Nottingham Forest, they really need to start winning again. Forest are also ranked 12th in GPG and they currently have the 5th-worst away record in the league.

My Prediction: 3-1

Sheffield United VS Liverpool

By the looks of it, Sheffield United will head into a huge challenge against Liverpool without Paul Heckingbottom in charge. Sheffield United got absolutely destroyed 5-0 by Burnley last Saturday and they are currently bottom of the league as a result. When it comes to Liverpool, they just about beat Fulham 4-3 in their last game and they currently sit second in the table. In their previous 4 meetings, Liverpool have won all of them by an aggregate score of 7-1. Sheffield United’s last victory over Liverpool was all the way back in 2003 (2-1 in the League Cup). For Sheffield United, they’re going to need a miracle if they’re going to get anything from this game. The Blades are ranked 20th in GPG (0.8) and they currently have the second-worst home record in the league. As for Liverpool, they really shouldn’t slip up here. The Reds are ranked 3rd in GPG (2.3), but they do currently only have the 9th-best away record in the league.

My Prediction: 1-4

Aston Villa VS Manchester City

In the game of the (mid)week, Aston Villa host Manchester City Live at Villa Park. Aston Villa just about drew 2-2 at Bournemouth last time out and they currently sit 4th in the table. When it comes to Manchester City, they dropped more points in a 3-all draw with Tottenham yesterday and they are currently third in the league. In their previous 24 meetings, Villa have only won 3 times whilst Man City have won 19 times. For Aston Villa, they have to go into this game believing they can win it. Villa are ranked 2nd in GPG (2.4) and they currently have the 4th-best home record in the league (6 wins from 6). As for Manchester City, it’s kind of important for them to get back on track with a victory in this one. City are ranked 1st in GPG (2.6) and they’re currently on a 9-game unbeaten run in all competitions (6W,3D).

My Prediction: 3-2

Manchester United VS Chelsea

Manchester United host Chelsea in another big game for Amazon Prime. Manchester United lost 1-0 at Newcastle in their last game and they are currently 7th in the league. When it comes to Chelsea, they won 3-2 at home to Brighton yesterday and they currently sit 10th in the table. In their previous 37 meetings, United have won 13 games compared to 11 wins for Chelsea. For Manchester United, this is a big game for them. United are ranked 12th in GPG (1.1) and they’re currently on a 6-game unbeaten run against their opponents (1W,5D). As for Chelsea, this also feels like a really important game for them. The Blues are ranked 8th in GPG (1.8) and they also currently have the 8th-best away record in the league.

My Prediction: 0-1

Everton VS Newcastle

Everton won 1-0 at Nottingham Forest last time out, but they are still currently inside the Relegation Zone (in 18th). When it comes to Newcastle, they beat Manchester United 1-0 Saturday Night and they currently sit 6th in the table. In their previous 24 meetings, Everton have won 12 times whilst Newcastle have won 9 times. For Everton, this will be a big test for them. The Toffees are ranked 16th in GPG (1.1) and they currently have the third-worst home record in the league. As for Newcastle United, they need to try and stick with the Top 5. The Magpies are ranked 3rd in GPG (2.3), but they currently only have the 15th-best away record in the league.

My Prediction: 1-3

Tottenham VS West Ham

Tottenham drew 3-3 at Manchester City yesterday and they are currently 5th in the league. When it comes to West Ham, they drew 1-1 at home to Crystal Palace in their last game and they currently sit 9th in the table. In their previous 28 meetings, Spurs have won 13 games compared to 10 for West Ham. For Tottenham Hotspur, they need to get back to winning ways now. Spurs are ranked 7th in GPG (2.0) and they’re currently on a 4-game winless run (1D,3L). As for West Ham United, they’ll be looking to keep their unbeaten run going. The Hammers are ranked 9th in GPG (1.7) and they’re currently on a 5-game unbeaten run in all competitions (4W,1D).

My Prediction: 2-1
