2023/24 Major Finals Preview Special

UEFA Europa League Final: Atalanta VS Bayer Leverkusen

Tomorrow plays host to the UEFA Europa League Final as Atalanta take on Bayer Leverkusen in Dublin, Ireland! Atalanta are currently 5th in Serie A and they’ve beaten Sporting, Liverpool, and Marseille to make it to the Final. When it comes to Bayer Leverkusen, they managed to win the Bundesliga and they’ve beaten Qarabag, West Ham, and Roma during the Knockout Stages. When it comes to success in this competition, Atalanta have never won it whilst Leverkusen won it for their one and only time back in 1988. Overall, this is a massive, massive game for Atalanta as they try and achieve European glory for the first time ever whilst Bayer Leverkusen are looking to pick up their second trophy in what’s been a pretty historic season!

My Prediction: 1-2

FA Cup Final: Manchester City VS Manchester United

For the second straight year, the Manchester Derby takes centre stage in the FA Cup Final as City take on United on the 25th (of May)! Manchester City secured the Premier League Title this week and they’ve beaten Huddersfield, Tottenham, Luton, Newcastle and Chelsea to make it to the Final. When it comes to Manchester United, they ended up finishing 8th in the league and they’ve beaten Wigan, Newport, Nottingham Forest, Liverpool, and Coventry on their road to Wembley! When it comes to success in this competition, City have won it 7 times (last in 2023) whilst United have won it 12 times (last in 2016). Overall, Manchester City are looking for another Domestic Double whilst Manchester United need to win if they want to play in Europe next season!

My Prediction: 3-1

Championship Playoff Final: Leeds VS Southampton

On the following day, Leeds and Southampton clashed in the biggest game in Football, the Championship Playoff Final! Leeds finished third in the Championship with 90 points and they beat Norwich in the Playoff Semi-Finals. When it comes to Southampton, they finished 4th with 87 points and they managed to get past West Brom to make it to Wembley! In their two meetings this season, Southampton have won both times! Overall, this is obviously a huge game for both clubs, and I’m almost certain that these two teams cannot afford to stay out of the Premier League for another season.

My Prediction: 2-1

UEFA Europa Conference League Final: Olympiacos VS Fiorentina

On the 29th of May, the world of Football focuses in on the UEFA Europa Conference League Final as Olympiacos take on Fiorentina in a ginormous game for both clubs! Olympiacos ultimately finished third in the Greek Super League and they’ve beaten Ferencvaros, Maccabi Tel Aviv, Fenerbache, and Aston Villa to make it to the Final! When it comes to Fiorentina, they are currently 8th in Serie A and they’ve defeated Maccabi Haifa, Viktoria Plzen, and Club Brugge on their way to the Final! When it comes to success in Europe, Olympiacos are about to enter their first-ever European Final whilst Fiorentina are back after losing at this hurdle to West Ham last year! Overall, this is a very exciting game for both clubs, and one of these teams is about to make a little bit of history!

My Prediction: 2-2 (Olympiacos Win on Penalties)

UEFA Champions League Final: Borussia Dortmund VS Real Madrid

And on June 1st, Wembley plays host to the UEFA Champions League Final as Borussia Dortmund and Real Madrid collide! Borussia Dortmund finished 5th in the Bundesliga and they’ve beaten PSV, Atletico Madrid, and PSG on their way to the Final. When it comes to Real Madrid, they managed to win LaLiga and they’ve defeated RB Leipzig, Manchester City, and Bayern Munich on their way to Wembley! When it comes to success in this competition, Dortmund won the Champions League for the only time in 1997 whilst Madrid are record-breaking 14-time Champions (last in 2022). Overall, Borussia Dortmund will have no fear in this game, but there’s always something inevitable about Real Madrid in this competition!

My Prediction: 1-2
