Argentina 3-0 Croatia
Argentina and Croatia battled for a spot in the World Cup Final for the second time in the past 3 tournaments. 30 minutes in, controversy struck as Argentina were awarded a penalty due to Dominik Livakovic taking down Julian Alvarez. This was a ridiculous decision. Alvarez had a shot and then ran into the keeper. What made it even worse was the stupid commentary team saying that it was 100% a penalty. A terrible decision that Lionel Messi capitalised off to put Argentina 1-0 up. To be fair to Messi, it was a hell of a penalty. 5 minutes, it was 2-0 to Argentina. Argentina hit Croatia on the counter attack and after 3 lucky bounces, Julian Alvarez tapped it in to give Argentina the commanding lead. Midway through the second half, Julian Alvarez got his second and Argentina’s third to wrap the game up. Overall, Croatia can be happy with their performance in this tournament but they won’t be happy with the referees. That penalty being given changed the whole game and cost Croatia the opportunity to play how they like for the whole game. As for Argentina, it was a big win for them that now sees them in the final. They will definetly be confident that they can beat France.
France 2-0 Morocco
The Reigning World Champions took on the Fairytale story as France faced Morocco in the second semi final. France were ahead after just 5 minutes through Theo Hernandez. The ball broke kindly for him and he finished well to silence the crowd. Olivier Giroud then had a good chance but his effort struck the post and went wide. Then, right before halftime, Jawad El Yamiq’s overhead kick hit the post! That would have been one of the most ridiculous World Cup moments ever! With just over 10 minutes to go in normal time, France were 2-0 up through Randal Kolo Muani. France got another lucky bounce and the just subbed on Muani was there to capitalise. Overall, Morocco have had an incredible tournament. They can also be proud off their efforts in this game and had they had some more luck, they could well have won that game. As for France, it’s another major final for them (3rd in six years) and they will fully believe that they can become back to back World Champions.
Third Place Playoff: Croatia VS Morocco
Croatia take on Morocco for the right to be named the 3rd best team at the 2022 FIFA World Cup. Croatia were very unlucky in their semi final defeat to Argentina and they come into this game with a tournament aggregate score of 6-6. As for Morocco, they put in a real shift against France and they come into this third place playoff with an overall aggregate score of 5-3. Overall, this should be a really good game. I’m actually more excited for this one than the final. Unlike normal third place playoffs, both teams (particually Morocco) will have a lot of pride of being in this game and it should be good fun. Expect penalties.

2022 FIFA World Cup Final: Argentina VS France
After a month, the World Cup Final has finally arrived as Argentina take on France. Argentina managed to beat Croatia 3-0 in their Semi Final meaning they come into this game with a tournament aggregate of 12-5. As for France, they managed to beat Morocco 2-0 to get here. They come into this game with a tournament aggregate of 13-5. Overall, this could be a high scoring game. Lionel Messi wants to win the one thing he’s never held whilst Kylian Mbappe and France want to become only the third footballing nation to be called back to back World Champions. I predicted both of these teams to lose to Brazil (Argentina in the semi’s, France in the final) so I was wrong about that one and I also think that I predicted France’s position wrong.
