On August 12th, 2022, I made the decision to start a Blog! Now, 27 months later, and we’ve officially reached the 1,000 Article stage! It feels pretty insane to be honest, I remember starting this with only my Dad, Nan, and Grandad reading the articles (they very much still do by the way), and to have been able to grow and have people message me saying they read my article or that they don’t need to watch the Qualifying Session cause they’ve caught up through my writing is just an honour, honestly! Oh, and we can’t forget about that Driver Line-ups Prediction Article that appeared on the first page of Google (still crazy)! But anyway, perhaps the most notable part about all of my writing is my terrible Predictions, which has brought up both some laughs and some questions as to whether I actually know what I’m talking about (I still don’t know the answer to that question either)! It’s worth mentioning that this article will cover all of the different sports I write about, and the images shown throughout will reflect that (but they won’t necessarily have anything to do with the Predictions themselves). Also, a couple of Predictions in here come from the 2022 Formula 1 Season, but there wasn’t actually an article for this, I did a PowerPoint in my spare time (but they’re included cause I did a Reaction article to them)! Anyway, without further ado, it’s time to React to My Worst Predictions (so far)!
Max Verstappen to Finish 5th (My 2022 Formula 1 Predictions)
After being crowned World Champion in the final lap of the 2021 Formula 1 Season, Max Verstappen entered as the Champ, and I didn’t see him coming out of the year “and still”! My theory was that Red Bull put so much effort into winning the Title in 2021 that they’d be off the pace at the start of the new regulations, but my goodness me was this wrong! See, not only did Max win his second World Championship, but he won the Title by 146 points, winning 9 of the last 11 Races! So yeah, this was pretty bad!
Leicester to Qualify for Europe (My 2022/23 Premier League Predictions)
Leicester City were becoming an established Top 10 side in the Premier League, finishing no lower than 9th from 2018 to 2022! Heading into the 2022/23 Season, I expected more good things from The Foxes, and I predicted them to Qualify for Europe as a result! However, that didn’t happen at all as Leicester ended up having a terrible season which saw them ultimately get Relegated for the first time in nearly 10 years! I don’t think I could’ve done much worse honestly!
Nick Cassidy to Finish 15th (My ABB FIA Formula E Season 9 Predictions)
After not having the best first two years at Envision Racing, I expected more of the same from Nick Cassidy heading into Season 9! However, that was very much not the case as Nick had a terrific year which saw him win 4 times on his way to second in the Championship! And the crazy thing about that is if it wasn’t for his teammate, Cassidy probably would’ve won the Title!
Dennis Hauger to be Crowned FIA Formula 2 Champion (My 2023 FIA Formula 2 Predictions)
In a PowerPoint I did (before I started this Blog) for the 2022 Formula 1 Season, I made the Prediction that Dennis Hauger would be crowned as FIA Formula 2 Champion! That very much didn’t happen, but despite that, I made the decision to back Dennis again for the 2023 Formula 2 Season! Again, this was wrong as Hauger ended up 8th in the Championship, some 90 points behind Champion Theo Pourchaire! The thing is, the Prediction isn’t great, but it isn’t horrendous. However, to back Hauger for the second straight year and to be wrong both times really isn’t good!
Nyck de Vries to be AlphaTauri’s Number 1 Driver (My 2023 Formula 1 Predictions)
I never followed Formula 2 much until a couple of years ago, but a driver I did like was Nyck de Vries, and in 2019, Nyck was crowned as F2 Champion! In my first season of watching Formula E, de Vries was crowned as the inaugural FE World Champion, so I got very excited when the Dutch driver debuted in Formula 1 for Williams at Monza (in 2022), and it only got better when he scored 2 points on debut! So, when Nyck was signed for AlphaTauri for 2023, I expected big things from him, and I firmly expected him to outperform Yuki Tsunoda! However, that obviously didn’t happen as de Vries failed to score a single point for AlphaTauri as he was ultimately dropped for Daniel Ricciardo, meaning he finished 22nd in the Standings! Yeah, this was pretty appalling!
The Jacksonville Jaguars to go 2-15 (My 2022 NFL Season Predictions)
For 2 straight years, the Jacksonville Jaguars ended up as the worst team in the entire National Football League! For the 2022 Season, I didn’t expect much better from Jacksonville, with me Predicting them to win just 2 games! However, The Jaguars did much better than that as they won 9 games to take the AFC South Title (and the Number 4 seed) before they won a Playoff game against the Los Angeles Chargers (they lost in Kansas City the week after)! Honestly, this was a very impressive year from The Jags, but it also meant that my Prediction was pretty bad!
Robin Frijns to Finish 8th (My ABB FIA Formula E Season 9 Predictions)
In his first 6 seasons in Formula E, Robin Frijns had established himself as a consistent driver who had averaged 2 Podiums a season! Because of this, I expected Robin to score some more Podiums in Season 9 and ultimately finish inside the Top 8 for the third year in succession! However, that Prediction went south on the opening lap of the season as Frijns broke his wrist in Mexico City before he returned 5 Rounds later to score just 6 points all year (amazingly, 3 of those points were from a Pole Position in Berlin)! Robin ultimately finished 22nd and last of the original Season 9 Drivers, so to say this was a bad Prediction would be an understatement!
Fulham to Finish Bottom (My 2022/23 Premier League Predictions)
For 5 straight years between 2018 and 2022, Fulham had either ended the season getting Promoted or Relegated! Heading into the 2022/23 Premier League Season, there was no reason for me to expect anything different from The Cottagers, hence why I put them to finish bottom! However, Fulham completely smashed that as they ended up finishing inside the Top Half (in 10th), scoring 52 points which was the club’s highest points total in the Top Flight for over 10 years! Honestly, fair play to them!
Pepe Marti to Finish 24th (My 2023 FIA Formula 3 Predictions)
Pepe Marti’s first season in FIA Formula 3 wasn’t good, he scored just 2 points as he ultimately finished 26th in the Championship! In 2023, I didn’t really expect anything good from Marti which is why I had him to finish in P24. However, Pepe Marti absolutely smashed that as he won 3 Races on his way to 5th in the Championship! This was mega impressive from Marti, and even more so when you consider the drivers who finished around him!
Oliver Rowland to Finish 21st (My ABB FIA Formula E Season 10 Predictions)
Oliver Rowland wasn’t a driver I rated very highly, particularly as he only finished 21st in the Championship in Season 9 after being dropped by Mahindra midseason! Due to this, I thought Oliver would have a pretty poor 2024, but my goodness me was I wrong as Rowland took 2 wins and another 5 Podiums to end up 4th in the Championship! It’s even more impressive when you consider that Ollie Rowland missed the weekend of Portland, but that also just makes my Prediction look even worse!
Spain to Lose in the Last 16 (My UEFA Euro 2024 Predictions)
In my UEFA Euro 2024 Predictions, I had Spain to get knocked out on Penalties in the Last 16 on the basis that they’d been eliminated on Penalties in each of the last 3 Major Tournaments! Obviously, Spain didn’t get eliminated in the Last 16 stage as they instead made it all the way to the Final where they beat England 2-1 to be crowned as European Champions! Now, that’s not a good Prediction, however, it gets even worse as Spain won all 7 of their matches (without conceding more than 1 goal in any of those games)!
Kacper Sztuka to Finish 7th (My 2024 FIA Formula 3 Predictions)
Kacper Sztuka entered 2024 as the reigning Italian F4 and Formula Winter Series Champion so I had high hopes for the young Polish driver! However, that hope was proven to be very misplaced as Kacper only finished in the points once all season as he ended up 27th in the Standings! Yes, 20 places lower than I predicted! My goodness me, that’s a shocker!
The Houston Texans to go 3-14 (My 2023 NFL Season Predictions)
For three straight seasons, the Houston Texans hadn’t won more than 4 games during the Regular Season (4 in 2020/21, 3 in 2022) and I very much expected that to continue even though I was a fan of their Rookie Quarterback C. J. Stroud! For the second straight year, the team I predicted to flop in the AFC South actually went on to win the Division as Houston scored 10 wins to edge out The Jaguars for that Number 4 seed! Oh, and that’s not all as The Texans put up 45 points against the Cleveland Browns in the Wild Card Round so my Prediction really did suck (for those wondering, they lost in Baltimore the following week)!
George Russell to Finish as Runner-Up (My 2023 Formula 1 Predictions)
After a really impressive debut season with Mercedes, I thought 2023 was going to be the year where George Russell fully established himself as the best driver on the Grid behind Max Verstappen. As with all of these Predictions, I was wrong, but this one is particularly bad as George finished just 8th in the Championship, with only two Podium finishes all year! Oh, and Russell only finished 400 points off Max in P1!
Leonardo Fornaroli to be Nowhere Near the Title (My 2024 FIA Formula 3 Predictions)
The most recent Predictions Reactions article I did was for the 2024 FIA Formula 3 Season, and I got reminded of how I Predicted Leonardo Fornaroli to finish 9th in the Championship! Now, for those who don’t know, Leonardo won this year’s Formula 3 Title, so that’s not a good start! However, it gets worse because I literally wrote the words “Fornaroli isn’t going to be anywhere near the Title”! Well hey, at least I didn’t say anything about him winning Races (I’m so bad)!
Burnley to Finish 8th, Qualify for Europe (My 2023/24 Premier League Predictions)
Burnley had one of the best Championship-winning seasons ever, picking up over a century of points to get themselves Promoted straight back to the Premier League! Because of this, and how other teams in the past had gone when they came off the back of strong campaigns (I’m looking at Wolves and Fulham), I expected big things from The Clarets, and I genuinely thought European Football wasn’t out of the question for them. Instead, Burnley were pretty terrible, winning just 5 of their 38 games, and they ended up getting Relegated straight back down to the Championship (they finished 19th out of 20)! I can’t even make a joke about this Prediction, it’s just abysmal!
AlphaTauri’s 2024 Lineup: Nyck de Vries and Dennis Hauger (My 2024 Formula 1 Driver Lineup Predictions)
We already know that I Predicted Nyck de Vries to be AlphaTauri’s Number 1 Driver in 2023, and we also know that I Predicted Dennis Hauger to be crowned as the 2023 FIA Formula 2 Champion! Well, in My 2024 Formula 1 Driver Lineup Predictions, I said AlphaTauri would go with the duo of de Vries and Hauger for their 2024 campaign! As we already know, Nyck had a pretty horrible F1 stint whilst Dennis wasn’t anywhere near a Formula 1 seat so this was a bit of a flop!
The Los Angeles Rams to Win Just 1 Game (My 2023 NFL Season Predictions)
The Los Angeles Rams were a team I thought would be absolutely horrendous in the 2023 NFL Season, mainly because of the other teams in their Division! What actually happened was The Rams had a really great year to win 10 games, and that resulted in them making the Playoffs (where they only lost by a point in Detroit)! The fact that LA won 10 games when I Predicted them to win 1 says all you need to know!
Nikola Tsolov to Finish Second (My 2023 FIA Formula 3 Predictions)
When I first learned about Nikola Tsolov, I was very excited! The 16-year-old Bulgarian won the F4 Spanish Championship in his first year in Single Seaters (by some margin too), and he was also a member of the Alpine Academy! Nikola was also signed by ART Grand Prix for the 2023 Formula 3 Season, and ART are known for being pretty damn good, hence why I had Tsolov to absolutely smash it! Unfortunately, for both of us, that very much didn’t happen as Nikola ended up 22nd in the Standings with just 6 points to his name! I obviously got way too excited because this is appalling!
Edoardo Mortara to be Crowned ABB FIA Formula E World Champion (My ABB FIA Formula E Season 9 Predictions)
Season 9 of ABB FIA Formula E was a new era for the series with the debut of the Gen3 Car! There were also new teams, and one of those was Maserati MSG (they took over from Rokit Venturi). Their main driver was a guy called Edoardo Mortara, and Edo had come off the back of 4 wins in 2022 whilst bad luck saw him just barely miss out on the Title in 2021! Because of this, I expected big things from Mortara and made him my pick to be crowned as Season 9’s Champion! Well, like all of these Predictions, it was pretty terrible as Edo Mortara ended up 14th in the Standings and worst of all, he didn’t appear on the Podium once (let alone win)! I’m either the worst Predictor ever or I just have amazing cursing powers!
Lewis Hamilton to Win His 8th World Championship (My 2022 Formula 1 Predictions)
For pretty much my entire time of being a Formula 1 Fan, Mercedes were the team to beat, they won every Championship comfortably, with a lot of them of course going to Lewis Hamilton (shoutout Nico Rosberg for 2016 though)! Now, 2021 was a pretty wild year, with Max Verstappen nicking the World Championship on the final lap of the year, but I thought 2022 would “go back to normal” in the sense that Mercedes would have the best car, and Lewis would be in control of the Championship! However, this couldn’t have been more wrong because Mercedes didn’t have the best car at all, and Hamilton didn’t win a single Race (for the first time in his career too)! What’s even crazier is not only did Lewis finish 6th in the Championship, but 214 points off first, that’s mad! Oh, and he also got beat by his teammate George Russell, and to cap it all off, I said Lewis was going to win his 8th and Retire, so what do I know?!
Never Backing Manchester City (Any Football Predictions Article)
Yes, it kind of feels fitting to end on this one! Manchester City have dominated English Football in recent years, winning 4-straight Premier League Titles (the first time ever in English history), winning 4 Carabao Cups in a row between 2018 and 2021, and of course that historic Treble in 2023! However, through all of that, I haven’t once predicted Manchester City to win the League Title, not once! I also do Predictions for each weekend during the year and make an Article out of that, and in the 2022/23 Season, I didn’t even have Man City to win in that! The even funnier thing is I do Predictions with my Family before the start of each season (I started this with my Grandad in 2016), and I still don’t predict City to win the Title! I honestly don’t know why, but maybe that’s the perfect way to sum all of this up!
